Is grammar boring
Do your students hate grammar? Do they think itââ¬â¢s boring, confusing, or pointless? Do you? If so, I want to recommend some fantastic picture books that will help spark an interest in even the most grammar-allergic kids: Ruth Hellerââ¬â¢s World of Languageà series. With rich, rhyming text and vivid illustrations, each book focuses on a specific part of speech, giving examples and factual information in a way thatââ¬â¢s both memorable and delightful to read. Hereââ¬â¢s a snippet from Many Luscious Lollipops: A Book About Adjectives: An ADJECTIVEââ¬â¢S terrific when you want to be specific. It easily identifies by number, color or by size: TWELVE LARGE, BLUE, GORGEOUS butterflies. It describes all things with style and graceâ⬠¦and also it describes a placeââ¬âMYSTERIOUS, STAR-SPANGLED ASTEROIDAL outer space. Click on the books below, and then click Look inside to read a sample of eachââ¬âyou and your students will be glad you did! à For more grammar help, check out our Fix It! Grammar seriesââ¬âgrammar doesnââ¬â¢t have to be boring! When she was ten years old,à Genevieve (Pudewa) Priestà attended the first writing class her dad had ever taught. Little did they know then that IEW would grow from that seedling into a company serving homeschoolers and schools around the world! Having taught in Montessori schools, homeschooled a younger sibling, and taught IEW writing to homeschool students, she enjoys being able to offer support and encouragement to parents, teachers, and students on their educational journey.
